Guidelines in importing vehicle to Saudi Arabia:
Car must not be older than five (05) years old.
Only one (01) car is allowed per person.
Right-Hand drive vehicles are not allowed
Personal effects shipment must NOT be loaded inside the car.
Procedure in Car Registration
AIRWAI will hand over to consignee the copy of Bayan. This document is required in securing the
Certificate from Saudi Arabian Standard Organization (SASO). Consignee will hand over the original
SASO certificate to AIRWAI
SASO Certificate will be submitted to Customs which in return will issue the green card.
The Green Card will be hand-over to the consignee.
The consignee will bring the vehicle to MVPI with the copy of Bayan and Green Card for check-up.
The consignee must purchase Car insurance.
Customs duty is @ 5% of C.I.F value.
The car and the personal effects (if any) will be cleared at the same time.
The consignee is not allowed to drive the vehicle unless he had secured the car registration certificate from the Traffic Police.
Required documents in Customs Clearance:
Copy of Passport with picture and visa page
Copy of Residence Permit (Iqama) / BATAQA
Online Authorization/Power of attorney to our customs broker.
Copy of Saudi Driver’s License
Original de-registration Certificate from country of Origin or Original Certificate of Ownership
Required documents in Car Registration:
Copy of Bayan (Document from Customs)
Green Card (Document from Customs)
Car Insurance (consignee must purchase)
MVPI (Motor Vehicle Periodic Inspection in Saudi Arabia)
Copy of Passport
